Cleaning For Health and The Environment

In 2007 our executive team resolved to change the strategic direction of PMM and align PMM's cleaning and plant operations procedures, products and practices with the standards established by Green Seal and the U.S. Green Building Council.

The decision altered PMM's business directions in profound ways. We immediately retained one of the country's premiere experts in green cleaning science and began to redefine our policies, re-educate staff, form partnerships with green suppliers and vendors, invest in new equipment, and radically overhaul our management and supervisory practices.
Why did PMM make this enormous investment in green cleaning and maintenance?
Over time, it became apparent that a clean appearance doesn't guarantee a healthy environment. We began to find scientific evidence that chemicals, air quality and other hygiene factors could compromise attendance, concentration, productivity and well-being. Using environmentally friendly products not only reduces your environmental impact, but also minimizes adverse effects on your employees and building occupants.

Today PMM is helping clients reduce water usage, harmful sewage, landfill trash and environmental toxins. But we're doing much more than merely satisfying official green standards. We are engaged in rigorous staff training; we are earning Green Seal Certification; and we receive ongoing technical and field support from a prestigious Science Advisory Board on state-of-the-art practices.

We are also teaming with many of our customers to assist them with their first steps towards promoting a cleaner and healthier environment. Everyone wins! You receive the consistent, high-quality janitorial services that fit your needs and your budget, and the planet stays healthy.

Research has shown that facilities that switch to green cleaning have:

  • Healthier occupants.
  • Lower operating costs and greater access to governmental financial incentives.
  • Positive environmental impacts.
  • As a result of our green efforts, we can now help any institution achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
  • LEED certification requires much more than just switching from traditional to green cleaning.

Benefits of LEED Certification:

  • Becoming LEED certified is good business. Certified Buildings enjoy government incentives, marketing benefits and protects property values.
  • LEED buildings are healthier.
  • Healthier environments increase productivity and tenant satisfaction
  • Green building helps the earth.
  • Going green increases the safety of the building and increases property values.
